The International Convention on Oil Pollution Preparedness, Response and Co-operation, 1990, was adopted at a conference convened in November 1990 for the purpose of establishing precautionary measures and effective preparation for combating oil pollution incidents involving ships, offshore units, sea ports and oil handling facilities.
